I have been a fan of both Peter Gabriel and Laurie Anderson for many decades now. Peter Gabriel is a genius and his music has an addictive quality that seats itself in the far recess of your brain, and once there, you need to feed on his music. Laurie Anderson, like Gabriel is a genius, but has an Avant Garde style to her music, which I still find refreshing to this day, with tracks like “Language is a Virus” and “Let x=x”. When they collaborated on “This is the Picture (Excellent Birds)” in 1986 I could have wet my pants with excitement, two of my favorite artists in one hit.
