Here we go, or should I say There She Goes, a hit for the La’s back in 1990. If you are not from Liverpool or the surrounding areas you may not know that people, lads mainly call each other La (pronounced lar), and definitely a Scouse thing.

I always thought this was a ‘60s song, but I guess that’s due to the very jangle pop sound of it. The original version by The La’s has been used in a lot of movies (as well as the pilot episode of Gilmore Girls), and a cover version by Sixpence None the Richer (of “Kiss Me” fame) was a Top 40 hit here in the U.S. The original version also charted here, but did not crack the Top 40 (which usually indicates a hit single), although it did very well on alternative rock radio.
